Summer Camp
There are so many things to do in Verbier throughout the summer that sometimes the only way to make the most of it all is to enrol in a summer camp! There are two companies that run this activity:
1. Les Elfes International have been running camps in Verbier for 8-18 year old girls and boys for many years now and offer a varied programme of activities and events. Sports include football, basketball, trampoline, golf, hiking, climbing, mountain biking, abseiling, sailing, windsurfing and more. All mountain sports are supervised by professional mountain guides. There is also an educational element, as the week includes 8 hours of tuition in either French, German, English or Spanish and a visit to a famous Swiss city such as Geneva, Bern or Montreaux. The children will also have the opportunity to take part in dance, music or theatre classes and put on a show at the end of the week. Les Elfes have a great reputation for providing a fun packed week in a safe and friendly environment; they also run camps in Mzaar (Lebanon).
2. The other option is Verbier ski and snowboard school Altitude, who now also offer summer camps to children aged between 3 and 16 years; there is the choice of day camps for anything up to 8 weeks or 2 week residential camps (little ones aged between 3 and 7 years can do a half-day option including lunch). Children will be grouped according to age and Altitude promise a great range of age-appropriate activities that encompass sports, languages, mountain adventures and excursions; additional extras include horse riding, paragliding, private language/sports coaching. Your child will get to experience the mountains through adventurous sports such as hiking, climbing, abseiling, rock climbing and staying in mountain refuges. The camps are well supervised with a student to staff ratio of 6:1 for younger groups and 8:1 for older groups. Altitude summer camps will introduce your child to a range of new experiences, life skills, confidence building and new friendships. All staff are fully qualified and experienced in working with children, all working year round for Altitude.
You can find contact details for either of these two summer camps on our Action, Fun & Sports page.

Suspension Walk
If you have highly active kids that aren’t afraid of heights and need constant entertainment, (or you’re really just a big kid at heart!!!) then the Suspension Walk is guaranteed to keep all the family entertained. Built in amongst the trees at Médran there's over 800 metres of ropes connecting the trees together where you have much fun teetering along the tightropes, sliding down the pulleys and whilst scrambling around the trees like a monkey! Attached by a harness and various pieces of safety equipment you too can become the next Tarzan or Jane. This is a great adventure playground that's just as much fun for adults as children ! Believe us, we're just big kids at heart and we've tried it !!!

Swimming
Verbier has two swimming pools that are open to the public for stretching out those weary legs after a hard day up the mountain. This is an ideal way to spend the day when the weather forecast isn't looking very promising!
The Verbier Sports Centre is probably the best option for families with children, or those who are easily bored, due to the sheer variety of facilities on offer! It boasts heated indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, Turkish bath, indoor ice rink, curling, solarium, squash court and climbing wall. You can buy lunch or snacks in the restaurant.
For a more tranquil experince there is the Mondzeu indoor pool (10 x 20 m) which offers hydromassage, sauna and a fitness center. Admission prices are reasonably inexpensive and children are welcome.
For more exclusive surroundings you could try enquiring at some of Verbier's larger hotels. You can sometimes pay a daily visitors rate and take advantage of their spa facilities. For details of these and public spas in the area please see Spas & Salons to find out where you can go.
