Verbier to open for summer skiing

Summer skiing in Verbier is back
The Verbier lift company has reported record snow-depths at the top of the slopes and will be putting in place snow preservation techniques to protect the snow-cover post winter season. Reflective sheets that have previously been used on glacier protection projects will be spread over exposed slopes inter-season to slow the melt process.
The summer ski season will however be early and short, running solely through-out the month of June. The normal Verbier summer opening is still scheduled for July which will make way for typical Verbier summer activities such as mountain biking, hiking and parapenting.
