Verbier Lift Pass Options - Summer

Lift Pass Options & Prices for Verbier - Summer
In order to make the most of the beautiful Verbier region, you should take advantage of the network of lifts that are open during the summer months. The main lifts operate from July to the end of August, with a reduced service running from mid-June until mid-September (especially for the bike park). The resort offers a variety of different lift passes and activity cards to cater for a whole range of preferences. There is no additional charge for taking your bike, dog or paraglider on the lift and all prices below are quoted in Swiss Francs (CHF).
Walking & Guided Hikes in Verbier
With over 400kms of marked hiking trails in the area, you will definitely regret not bringing your walking boots to Verbier! Enjoying the high mountain trails and scenery is made all the easier when you make use of the summer lift system.

As in winter, in order to use the lifts you first need to purchase a lift ticket. You can either do this on an individual basis for the lifts you want to use; or perhaps a more economical way is to purchase a day ticket which will give you unlimited access to a number of lifts in the area.

Verbier also arranges a number of guided hikes to some of the highlights in the area:

Sentiers des Chamois
Starting at la Chaux, the Sentiers des Chamois is a 6 hour hike through the nature reserve in the Haut Val de Bagnes. Taking in high mountain passes, alpine lakes and mountain huts, this beautiful route will also bring you up close to some of the local flora and fauna – ibex, marmots and golden eagles.

Ask for a Ticket to Nature pass.

Mont Fort (3330m)
A trip to the top of Mont Fort is an unforgettable experience and one that you should not miss out on whilst you’re here. From the top at 3330m, you will get a unique view of some of the highest peaks in the Alps from Mont Blanc (4810m) to the Matterhorn (4478m).

There are a couple of organised excursions that combine the splendours of Mont Fort with some interesting local cultural activities:
  • ”Valais Flavours” - After your trip to the peak, stop in at refuge on the Col des Gentianes for a taste of some locally produced specialities.

  • ”Breakfast on Mont Fort” - Truly worth getting out of bed for; watching the sun come up from the summit of Mont Fort! Afterwards, the guide will take you to visit a high mountain dairy where you can watch and learn about their cheese making process before tucking into a hearty breakfast of local delicacies.

Kona Bike Park
New in 2006, the Kona Bike Park is a must for downhill fans with 6km of serious downhill tracks running from Ruinettes to the Médran in Verbier. The 700m vertical drop in altitude makes it more suitable for speedsters and hardcore downhillers, however, you have to start somewhere and the park offers 3 different gradients of trail – blue, red and black – for beginners, intermediates and experts respectively.

You can either buy a day or half day lift ticket to use the park which will give you unlimited access to the Ruinettes gondola. Alternatively, each afternoon, pro-riders from the Verbier bike team are available to show you around the trails (min. 2 people), telling you all you need to know about the park and the obstacles on the way. Advance reservation is recommended for one of these “Brakeless” sessions, but bear in mind that your lift ticket, bike hire and protective equipment are not included in the price.

To check your progress during your stay, you can hire a “Freelap” timer gadget that will tell you the time of your descent on 3 different sections of the black “Tire’s Fire” piste.

There are plenty of sport shops in and around town offering mountain bikes and protection kit for rent or sale (No Bounds, Medran Sport, Jet Sport, Xtreme or Happy Sport in Le Chable)
