Updated

Whilst Verbier isn't necessarily the first place you think of as a place to shop 'til you drop, the shopping in resort is excellent but can be expensive.

From high-spec technical sports apparel and equipment to luxury shops and artisanal food shops, Verbier has an array of 'magasins' that are perfect whether you need a last minute gift or just fancy a mooch.

Food & Drink

For more of the local flavour you can stock up on cheeses and cured meats at any of the local epiceries, laiteries or fromageries. Many are happy to let you have a taste before you make a decision so don’t be afraid to ask.

For more practical items, groceries and the like, try the supermarkets.

Luxury & designer

This being Verbier there is a range of exclusive boutiques catering for the wealthier sector of the ‘ski-set’. However, the more modest pocket is also catered for with brands such as Quiksilver, Rip Curl and Patagonia.

Markets

Although Verbier does not hold its own weekly market you can visit the Tuesday market in Aosta or the Thursday market in Martigny without too much trouble.

Sports Shops

Obviously one of the most highly represented shops in town is the sports shop; there is nothing you can’t find related to Alpine sports here in Verbier. They are dotted all over the resort, the ones near the Médran lift station are amongst the best, but there are many more to choose from depending on what you are looking for.
