10-15cm of fresh snow fell over Verbier yesterday with the freezing level half way down the valley to Le Chable. The mixed weather continues with more snow on the way.
Another March Snowstorm: 18th March 2013

Around 10cm of fresh snow fell overnight with more on the way. Almost all of the ski area is open with the exception of Mont Gele. The current avalanche risk is 2 out of 5 but that may change in the coming days. Temperatures are variable and currently flat light is making visibility tricky but some sunny moments are shining through. The roads in resort are currently covered with snow and the freezing level looks to stay at around 1,000m over the next few days.
Mid March Verbier Dump: 14th March 2013

10-15 cms of fresh snow fell overnight with more on the way. Vallon d'Arbi/ Col des Mines and Mont Gele are currently closed. Despite the fresh snow the risk of avalanche has not risen and is still at 2 out of 5. It's snowing and cold at the moment and there's poor visibility up the mountain but fresh snow on the piste and off. In town currently very icy on paths and roads so take care out there.
A Valentines Dump: 15th February 2013

10-15 cm fell through the night with light winds and cold temperatures. Freezing level is currently 1000m and roads above that are slippery. All of the ski area is open with the exception of the Planard cat track back to Verbier from Savoleyres and the two off piste runs in the same area. Weather expected to clear by the end of day with sunshine after. Risk of avalanche 2 out of 5 but recent avalanches have caused fatalities and serious injury so be very careful out there.
Head for the Trees: 6th February 2013

10-20 cm of fresh snow landed as low as resort over night. Strong winds continue at altitude with cold temperatures and initially many sectors were slow to open fully. Currently the risk of avalanche is 3 out of 5 and the Mont Gele, Vallon d'Arbi and Col des Mines sectors are still closed. Best viz is on tree lined low runs but some ice and crusty off piste continues with fine powder on top. Weather set to continue with snow but breaking for the weekend.
