Transfers to Verbier

There are several ways to get from Geneva to Verbier, or from any other airport. The most cost effective way is to take a shared transfer (a shuttle minibus service) with one of the many Verbier transfer companies that offer this service.

How do I get from the airport to Verbier?

Geneva (CH) airport is the best served airport to use for Verbier at just over two hours away by motorway. Sion (CH) is the closest airport at 40 minutes drive away but has limited flights due to its small size. Turin (IT) is 2½ hours away. To travel from these airports you have the choice of scheduled bus, shared shuttle, hire car, taxi, tour operators, private helicopter transfer or train. Local Transport & Parking in Verbier

Although the resort is growing every year, nothing in Verbier is ever too far to be reached by foot; it is possible to walk from one end of the village to the other in roughly 30 minutes. However, the resort also offers an excellent free bus service as well numerous car parking facilities.

Winter Driving Conditions

If you’re taking your car to a ski resort then it’s inevitable that you’ll end up driving on snow at some point. Local municipalities are generally very good at keeping the roads clear and you’ll hear the snow ploughs out long before dawn, ensuring that the roads are snow free for people to get about resort. However, driving on snowy, icy roads is a hazardous affair and requires extra care and attention. Here are some things to consider:

Inter-Resort Transfers

Unless you book a private transfer or have a car, travelling between French ski resorts is generally not very easy. There aren’t regular inter-resort public transport routes meaning that your journey is likely to be time consuming and involve at least one change. Even if it seems that Chamonix is just over the mountain from Val d'Isere, the road over the Col will be closed during the winter because of high snow levels.
