by Helen McGrory | Resort Reporter | published 20-Nov-2008
From this Saturday, 22nd November, the ski lifts of Verbier will be open daily, marking the official start of the Winter 08/09 season.
As we mentioned in our earlier news item, the first lifts opened a couple of weekends ago and as you can see from the photos, skiers were greeted with some pretty tasty looking piste conditions.
For this coming weekend, the following lifts will be open:
- Châble-Verbier (link) : 08:40-16:45
- Médran (link) : 08:45-16:30
- Funispace (ski) : 09:00-16:00
- Attelas (ski) : 09:15-16:15
- Lac des Vaux 1 and Lac des Vaux 3 (ski) : 09:15-16:15
Day passes over the weekend will cost CHF 45- for adults, CHF 36- youth/senior and CHF 23- for children, and half day passes are available from 11.30am.
During the week, only the Medran (link) and the Funispace (ski) will be running for the moment, but that still gives a decent circuit from Attelas (2727m) to Les Ruinettes (2200m). Lifts will be running from 8.45am – 16.30pm and skiing will be possible between 9am - 4pm. Lift prices are lower to reflect the reduced area open and a day ticket will cost CHF 35- or half day CHF 29- from 11.30am.
