Nissan Xtreme 2010 hits Verbier

There’s a great trick you can play on first timers to Verbier who reckon they’re a bit too cool for school. Tell them you’ll warm them up with a few laps of Lac de Vaux, test out their legs on Tortin and then raise the bar with one of Mt. Gele’s couloirs. The final stop on the Verbier tour, you can tell them, will be the Bec des Rosses, the legendary mountain where the Verbier Xtreme is held each year. As you point the face out from the Jumbo cable car you should have the pleasure of seeing the colour drain from their cheeks as they mutter something about needing to find their ski legs on a few more reds first, for the Bec des Rosses is a fearsome 500 metre cliff that appears 80% rock, speckled with snow. read more... |
