Verbier mountains open to all

Charitable association Verbier4All promotes mountain access

Working closely with local businesses and associations, as well as with the lift company Téléverbier, newly created charity Verbier4All will help people with visual and/or physical deficit access the mountains all year round.

Founded by Verbier local Valérie Vaucher and paraplegic sports expert Annick Meystres with the help of Bethnal Drinkall, chair and founder of adaptative ski charity Ski4All Wales, as well as the Belgian father of a disabled skier, the association is a true melting pot of nationalities that reflects Verbier's international community.

Verbier4All has already secured the support of Téléverbier. The lift company will be introducing improvements to its lift infrastructure to make it more user-friendly, with some of the changes already in place this summer. The project also involves the creation of a library of adaptative equipment, as well as a pool of qualified 'buddies' to help people with physical and/or visual deficit navigate the mountains. Exclusively staffed by volunteers and with all funds raised directly supporting the association's activities, Verbier4All's next step will be a fundraiser to purchase winter equipment.

A wonderful initiative that will help make our beautiful mountains more accessible for all to enjoy.
