Verbier Dump Alert: 17th January 2018
It’s been snowing heavily overnight here in Verbier, with most of the lifts now closed due to high winds. At least 40cm has fallen in resort, which should mean another 20cm on top of that higher up the mountain.
The ski patrol team is busy blasting away, with the current avalanche warning level at 3, although I expect with the high winds that might increase if large snowdrifts and cornices begin to build on the higher, more exposed faces.
The forecast is saying that the snow is going to keep coming too, with potentially over a metre more snow falling by the end of the week!
