Fer a Cheval Restaurant Review

The Locals' Favourite - Great Value & Good Quality Cuisine

featured in Restaurant reviews Author Jan Ogorzalek, Ski Editor Updated

The Fer a Cheval is a favourite for lunch and a social apres-ski drink thanks to the large sun drenched terrace on the main road which links the town centre with the main lift station, Medran.

As I walked up the high-street I noticed the daily specials on the chalk board and simply couldn't resist stopping in to try the vodka flamed king prawns on a sun-dried tomato flavoured spaghetti. Being in Verbier and ordering something as fancy as king prawns, you could be forgiven for thinking that it would cost a fortune, but as the dish of the day it also came with a lovely salad starter, fresh bread and cost 24 CHF for a very tasty 2 course lunch. The quality of the food represented good value for money and I would happily come back to eat there again.

In the evenings the menu is largely made up of traditional Swiss mountain dishes with hearty portion sizes to satisfy even the hungriest of skiers, with a very cosy downstairs dining room with various sized alcoves to cater for groups and couples alike.
