Following a major landslide on the 13th January, the Col de la Forclaz will finally reopen on Wednesday 7th March. The road will have been closed for 53 days while major works were undertaken to stabilise the mountainside.

Initially, the road will only be open from 06:00 to 22:00 while final works are completed overnight. A decision as to when the road will be open fulltime will be made this week as progress is assessed on the final stage of construction.

This will no doubt be welcome news for the residents of Trient but also for keen skiers on both sides of the border as Chamonix and Verbier will once again be connected via road.
