It's been snowing in Verbier non-stop this week, and even more snowfalls and low temperatures have been forecast this weekend... so it's time for the fun to begin! The ski resort will open on Friday November 11th for the first time in the 2016/2017 season, and will remain open every weekend throughout the month.

Only the beginner Lac des Vaux area is scheduled to open this Friday with just the blue piste ready on Friday 11th, to which the red piste will be added on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th. Four lifts will be open throughout the weekend: Le Châble (08:40 to 16:45), Verbier-Les Ruinettes (08:45 to 16:15), Funispace (08:55 to 16:15) and Lac des Vaux (09:05 to 16:15). However, depending on the upcoming weather in the next few days, other slopes might open in November.

Lift passes will cost CHF 37 for adults, CHF 31 for teenagers and seniors, and CHF 19 for children on Friday, while prices will rise to CHF 39 for adults, CHF 33 for teenagers and seniors and CHF 20 for children on Saturday and Sunday. There are reductions for half-day skiing (from 11:30) and local residents (Super indigène). You can buy your lift pass at the offices in Medran and Le Châble, which will be open from 08:30 to 16:30.

The full opening of Verbier is anticipated to be on 3rd December 2016. But, if you're here on Friday, it's time to get those first turns of the season in...
