featured in Nightlife reviews Author Ben Gilbert, Verbier Reporter Updated

December is such a crazy month for everyone in resort whether you are working or on holiday. The population quickly rises from 3,000 to nearly 40,000 in a matter of weeks and making a decision on where to celebrate Christmas and New Year's Eve is a hard decision.

If you are not spending time celebrating in your chalet or hotel, there are plenty of places where you can go and have an unforgettable time, but it is very important that you book in advance, as everything gets booked up in a flash!

Christmas is celebrated over 3 days in Verbier because of the different nationalities we have here, so you can have Christmas dinner on either the 24th, 25th or the 26th December.

The 'W' are providing a 6 course dinner at their Arola Restaurant and Le Rouge and Etoile Rouge will also be doing special courses, but you'll have to book well in advance.

Not all restaurants will have a special Christmas menu and most are fully booked before they have opened for the winter season.

Every nightclub in Verbier sell tickets for NYE and are open from midnight till 4/5am and prices range from 75chf-400chf! Notoriously the clubs have always been quiet on NYE because 10,000 people are in place centrale and get entrance either side of NYE for free.

Here are a list of prices for the paid for events:

Pub Mont Fort - 100chf with one free drink

The Loft - 90chf including a drink

Twin Peaks - 75chf with two free drinks

Farinet Lounge - 200chf includes champagne and canepes between 20-21:00 plus one cocktail.

Tbar - 100chf no drink included

Farm Club - 400chf with a bottle of champagne

Le Rouge - 200chf with 1 free drink

Etoile Rouge - 350chf with a bottle of champagne

When you are on the slopes around the Christmas time, please be careful. It is the busiest time of year and accidents do happen but, a lot of them can be prevented by always looking over your shoulder, not using the whole piste and going at a sensible speed on the busier pistes.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
