About Shopping in Verbier
The shopping in Verbier is excellent but can be expensive; there is a range of exclusive boutiques catering for the wealthier sector of the ‘ski-set’. However, the more modest pocket is also catered for with brands such as Quiksilver, Rip Curl and Patagonia.
Obviously one of the most highly represented shops in town is the sports shop; there is nothing you can’t find related to Alpine sports here in Verbier. Xtreme Sports Ski Boutique in the place central, Fellay Mode and Sport and No1 Sports near the Médran lift station are amongst the best, but there are many more to choose from depending on what you are looking for. For specialist boot-fitting you might like to visit Mountain Air, with a team dedicated to finding you the perfect ski & snowboard boots.
For some local handcraft head to Bagn’Art to browse the shelves of ceramic and wooden items typical of the Valais region. For more of the local flavour you can stock up on cheeses and cured meats at any of the local epiceries, laiteries or fromageries. Many are happy to let you have a taste before you make a decision so don’t be afraid to ask!
For more practical items, groceries and the like, try Migros or the Co-op. Migros is generally considered cheaper but Co-op offer free delivery.
Although Verbier does not hold its own weekly market you can visit the Tuesday market in Aosta or the Thursday market in Martigny without too much trouble.
