Discover insights about Verbier hotels

Updated

Finding hotel accommodation in Verbier is certainly not difficult, and with its reputation as an exclusive high-end resort it is no surprise that there are a number of luxury five-star hotels here. However, the town is also home to numerous mid-budget establishments.

Hotels vs chalets & apartments

Chalets and apartments are usually the most popular accommodation options when it comes to ski holidays. They tend to offer more room, more flexibility in terms of catering and, sometimes, better prices. However, hotels are also a great choice for those visiting Verbier, especially when you're not coming for a full week.

Why book a hotel room instead of a chalet or an apartment in Verbier?
If you aren't planning on a full week ski holiday, hotels can offer much more flexibility on dates, plus many can't be beaten in terms of extended services and facilities such as gourmet restaurants, spas, swimming pools, fitness rooms, tennis courts, childcare, bike and/or ski hire, flexible catering options...the choices are endless. And even though some apartment and chalet companies have recently made their booking requirements more flexible, the reality is that many can only be booked for six or seven days especially in peak season.

Luxury hotels in Verbier

Verbier has a great choice of five-star hotels offering plenty of grandiose glamour, palatial premises, and beautiful bars and restaurants. As you'd expect, most of them have their own spa facilities and quite a few have their own ski hire shops in-house too, so you don't have to travel far to pick up your gear when you arrive. This also means that there's somewhere to store it at the end of the day. From chic, elegant and modern designer establishments to the more traditional chalet-style hotels, Verbier has plenty to offer at this end of the market.

  2. Le Chalet d'Adrien Hotel
Le Chalet d’Adrien offers a traditional alpine style and Verbier’s only Michelin-starred restaurant. This luxury hotel remains a chalet at heart with wood used both inside and out, deeply imbued with the traditions and culture of the Valais region.

  3. The Lodge Chalet-Hotel
Definitely worth a mention is The Lodge, Virgin owner Sir Richard Branson’s mountain retreat. Usually booked as a whole chalet, rooms in this ultra-exclusive property can be booked individually during one of several ‘hotel weeks’ they offer throughout the season.

Family-friendly hotels in Verbier

Most hotels in Verbier are more than happy to welcome young children and many of them offer family rooms. However, there are many other things to consider, such as distance to the pistes, amenities and services within the hotel and facilities in the neighbouring area.

Best family-friendly hotels in Verbier
This is where we'd book a room if we were travelling with young children.

  1. Cordée des Alpes Hotel
The Cordée des Alpes Hotel offers babysitting services, ski school options and family assistance. Located bang in the centre of Verbier, it's very convenient for access to all the shops, restaurants and bars. The hotel itself has an excellent restaurant, making meals easy and accessible with children... although kids might want to venture out every night seeing as the hotel's shuttle is a horse-drawn carriage!

  2. Bristol Hotel
Offering great value in the heart of resort, Hotel Bristol has family rooms available. It's a few hundred metres from the lifts and surrounded by shops, restaurants and bars so those tired little legs won't have to go far to explore what Verbier has to offer. After a day on the mountain, you can look forward to unwinding in the relaxation area and enjoy a traditional sauna to soothe any aches and pains following a day of activity.

  3. Chalet Flore Hotel
The baby sister of the five-star Chalet d'Adrien, Le Chalet de Flore Hotel is a fantastic (and more affordable) establishment for the whole family. There are interconnected rooms, some of them with separate spaces for children and a large choice of DVDs to keep the little ones entertained, a large play area, snack times and activities for families.
