About Disabled Skiing in Verbier
In Verbier all skiers with a handicap are welcomed, whatever their disability may be. The skiing area is well equipped with facilities such as elevators, which makes access to many lifts quite easy.
People with disabilities have access to the entire skiing domain, however, the Savolyeres side is a bit trickier as the main access to the area (via the old gondola) isn’t well suited so it is best avoided.
If you'd like someone to accompany you on the slopes, speak to European Snowsport Ski School as they have an adaptive programme to offer a unique service to all clients; the less able, disabled or the elderly. Their highly experienced and qualified adaptive instructors provide bespoke adaptive tuition, guiding and equipment for all types of skiers, boarders, beginners or full time athletes and are passionate about ensuring that you gain the ultimate snow experience. The ES Adaptive Program is linked with European Snowsport, and runs in association with Disability Snowsport UK. Booking in advance is highly recommended.
The École Suisse de Ski may also be able to help as they have qualified instructors who can help you enjoy the thrill of sliding on the snow, and they cater for adults and children alike. It's highly recommended to book in advance, and the price includes hire of equipment.
In terms of accommodation with disabled access, the best thing to do is check with your tour operator, hotel or chalet rental company about the facilities they provide for visitors with disabilities.
