    Popular ski-passes
There are two main types of Verbier ski passes: the 4 Valleys Pass (full area) and the Verbier Valley Ski Pass (local area). As the name suggests, the 4 Valleys Pass gives you access to 4 neighbouring valleys and around 410 km of pistes. The Verbier Ski Pass pass gives you access to the local Verbier ski area and beginner slopes. Most skiers buy the 6-day 4 Valleys pass, as this allows you to explore many more pistes, mountain restaurants and bars, and the neighbouring villages without having to worry if you've 'crossed a border'.

Verbier operates a dynamic pricing system for ski passes, depending on which day/date you buy your pass for a given duration. The cheapest options are generally early or late in the season, or skiing mid-week outside school holidays, so no surprises there.

The Valais SkiCard is a hands-free lift pass that works on a prepayment system. It can be used for all ski resorts in the Valais, most ski areas of Vaud and some resorts in the Pre-Alps of Fribourg. It also gives access to the thermal baths of the Valais (Ovronnaz, Anzère, Burgerbad Leukerbad and Brigerbad) and the Gianadda Foundation in Martigny. Valais Skicard holders can charge their card with a desired amount of money without having to queue at the ticket counters. Acting as a cashier, the pass scanner registers your age and price category and automatically deducts the exact amount from your Valais SkiCard each time you go through the control gate. Validity: more than 40 ski areas in the Valais Region.

    Ski insurance

Prices shown above are without insurance. You can purchase ski insurance with the lift company. Snow Assist covers you for the refund of lift-pass, refund of ski lessons, refund of ski rental costs, refund of rescue costs by ambulance and helicopter and third-party liability. 5.-CHF per day.
