What else to book

Transfers

You’ll need to book your own transfers, when staying here. Your main options are shared or private transfers, but consider whether you would prefer a door-to-door service or a (generally cheaper) “communal” drop-off point at your destination

Cycle Hire

You’ll need to organise your own bike hire when staying here.  Things to consider are the type of bike you want to rent such as road, mountain, hard trail and/or an electric bike; and whether you’ll need helmets and protective clothing with your rental. You’re best off choosing a shop that is close to your accommodation for ease of access, and making it quicker to return the bike and pay at the end. Some companies may also deliver so it’s worth looking at all the options.

Ski Hire

There is a ski and snowboard rental shop on-site through which you can rent all your equipment, meaning you won't have to walk anywhere to collect your gear and then lug it back to your hotel. Enquire for details on booking.

Lifts & Passes

You’ll need to buy your own lift pass, when staying here. Lift passes can be booked online or bought in resort on arrival. There are many types of pass available, suited to different levels, length of stay and budget. It’s worth reading up on the options to get the most from your lift pass in summer & winter.

Instructors & Lessons

When staying here, you’ll need to book  your own ski or snowboard lessons. Tuition is strongly recommended for complete beginners and is always a good idea whatever your level to perfect your technique. Group lessons are a great way for children to learn with their peers whilst giving you some free time on the slopes. Groups are also a generally cheaper option for adults, however, with a private instructor you’ll have undivided attention and be able to progress at your own pace.

Guides & Tours

When staying here, you’ll need to book your own Guides & Tours, which are a great way to discover Verbier whilst doing a number of fun activities. During the winter, if you are keen to go off-piste, booking a High Mountain Guide is strongly recommended. Not only do they know the best local spots, these highly trained and experienced individuals are very familiar with the surroundings and can provide loads of insights you won’t get by yourself, as well as helping to ensure your safety.

  • "I have stayed at the Hotel Montpelier four times and every time it gets better and better. The friendly staff with a warm welcome who are so accommodating; the great facilities - the swimming pool are a godsend after a hard day's skiing and the central location and finally the excellent breakfasts." - Trip Advisor
  • "This hotel is worth so much more than 3 stars. The rooms are immaculate, with fresh towels daily. The receptionists and restaurant staff are very helpful. We loved the fact that the man who had made us porridge one morning, had told his colleague because the next morning we were asked if we would like fresh porridge. They had obviously done a thorough handover - very impressed. One word of warning - the showers in the pool area can get really, really hot!" - Trip Advisor
  • "Third stay at the Montpellier, just outside the main part of town situated in a quiet spot with lovely views of the mountains. Staff are very helpful and there is a good ski room facilities and a ski hire shop within the lower ground floor (advance booking recommended). Rooms are well apportioned and clean, bathrooms fair sized. Breakfast is good value and service throughout is very good. This hotel is very well priced for Verbier and with a free shuttle stop 2 mins from the door, very easy to get in the centre of town. We walked everywhere when not carrying skis. Highly recommend this hotel for friendliness, value and position." - Trip Advisor
  • "My husband and I just spent a wonderful week in Verbier and stayed at Hotel Montpelier. We could not have been happier. The hotel is in a quiet location, yet close to everything. We were in Verbier for a ski holiday and the hotel was able to accommodate all our needs. From the delicious breakfast that started our day, to the relaxing wellness area, the hotel was a perfect choice for us. But most importantly was the staff! Claudia and Hugo were so helpful and friendly, from making dinner reservations for us to mixing delicious Portuguese cocktails, we enjoyed their hospitality. We truly enjoyed our week at Hotel Montpelier and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, reasonably priced hotel with traditional Swiss hospitality." - Trip Advisor
