Warm weather followed by fresh snow in Verbier

More snow over the weekend to top up the pistes

featured in Snow report Author European Snowsport, Verbier Reporter Updated

We have been having beautiful warm weather here in Verbier over the past week, which is causing the remaining snow to become heavier and slushy in the afternoons, as you would expect at this time of year.

We are expecting clearer skies some days next week, but for now it is snowing again.

On Friday the total new snowfall was around 5cm, then 3cm throughout the day on Saturday. The visibility up there today is quite poor due to the snowfall, but conditions have been changing rapidly over the past week, from patchy sun to snow to cloud again over the course of one morning.

The snow conditions are good considering we are nearing the end of the season, and the runs below Ruinettes still have decent coverage.

Pretty much all of the lifts are open, except for the Bruson area and the Mont-Gele cable car, so there is plenty still left to ski.

South facing slopes such as Les Esserts and La Chaux tend to become slushier by the middle of the day when the sun is out, however areas such as Lac des Vaux are keeping in better condition throughout the day.

We also have the Verbier Impulse Music and Ski Festival beginning on 8th to 10th April, and again 15th to 17th April. The event is made up of 6 concerts, mostly on the main stage located by Chalet Carlsberg, with bleachers made of snow to seat 5000 people.

Don’t miss out on this exciting event!
